Epilepsy first aid is just a few easy steps to remember and could help you save someones life!
-People with tonic-clonic seizures can have fatal head injuries, which is why it is important to cushion there heads.
-Many epileptics vomit either during or while coming out of a seizure. If they are not turned on there sides they can choke or drown on there own vomit. so it’s very important to remember to turn them.
-It IS impossible to swallow your own tongue. So don’t put anything in an epileptics mouth.
-Look for a medical ID tag. It’s usually a necklace or a bracelet with their name and a emergency contact number.
-Don’t hold them down. This is mainly to protect yourself as the thrashing of the seizure can cause injuries to others, not just the epileptic.
-Stay with the person until help comes or they are fully aware.
Thank you for reading :) and reblogs are appreciated.
